Great oysters – crisp, firm. Great texture, sort of hearty and medium briny. Taste like the definition of fresh and deep water cold.

love these oysters – order them every holiday season and bring them to all my holiday parties.

I’m sorry, these oysters were very inconsistent. Tasting either sweet and melon like or wrank. As a matter of fact they got wranker by the day. They arrived on Friday and what we hadn’t eaten had to be thrown away by Monday. Definitely not worth the price.

This is one of my favorite oysters of all time. I’m told that they are grown in the coldest waters of any commercially-grown oyster. In the winter, they must drop the lines deep to keep the oysters from freezing. The water is also preternaturally clean.

This means that Katchemaks are extremely slow-growing, which translates to crisp, flavorful, firm oysters. Not huge, but rich in flavor and texture.
