  1. Very inconsistent. Shared half a dozen and 3 of them had an earthy, almost cow poop flavor. The other 3 were fine, but unimpressive. A little soft, they fell apart and almost dissolved in my mouth. The flavor was a little bland. Not enough salt for me.

  2. Rating 3

An okay oyster. Really depends on your taste, but Chef’s Creek were a bit too creamy for my liking. Be careful shucking as the shell tends to flake more easily.

Got these from the great folks at Real Oyster Cult. Creamy melon flavor balanced by good salt. Delicious. A great “beginner” oyster to start your friends on if they have never had an oyster.

  4. Rating 5

Slightly salty, creamy texture. A real treat. Paid 25 a dozen in South Carolina. One of the creamiest fatty oysters I’ve eaten. Deep shell.

  5. Rating 5

deep shell, firm texture, moderate brine and overall flavor, though almost meaty in character
